RVC Angel Accelerator: Lead Investor & Board Seats

    Friday, September 11th, 2026 | 10 am - 12 pm MT

Virtual via Zoom: Meeting link shared upon registration

    For both investors and entrepreneurs

How does someone learn how to be a successful Angel Investor?

Participate in the RVC Angel Accelerator and learn how to be a smart Angel. New Angels who don’t take this workshop often spend years and $250,000 or more learning how to do Angel investing! Receive a great return on investment, avoid taxation, learn about leading-edge innovation and meet interesting people!

This Angel Accelerator advances Angel Investors' learning with a combination of hands-on exercises, working with experienced angel investor mentors, and solid content and toolkits that you'll need for successful Angel Investing.

Topics Covered in this Workshop include:

Week #9 (Friday, September 11th, 2026) - Lead Investors & Board Members: Learn what it means to serve as a Lead Investor and best practices for serving as a board member.

This is the workshop for investors who are interested in leading an investment deal through an angel syndicate. The lead investor plays an important role in getting the deal done beginning with showing a commitment for the deal and communicating with peer investors to gauge interest and guide them through the deal. The lead works closely with the due diligence team to make sure that all the critical questions are answered and that risk has been mitigated for investors. The lead assists RVC staff in negotiating the deal by preparing the term sheet and ensuring that the terms are acceptable to all investors in the deal. The lead may also play a role in syndicating, not only within RVC, but with outside VC and angel groups. This helps bring out of state money into Colorado, but also helps to fund RVC companies and close out the rounds.

This workshop walks participants through the deal process and gives tips at each stage to drive engagement, evaluate the deals and, when appropriate, to bring in investors and get the deal done. Workshop participants receive resources to help them through the process as well as answers to the most common questions first time leads have.

For your best deal, you should consider ACTIVE INVESTOR MEMBERSHIP in Rockies Venture Club, Colorado's leading angel network. That gets you a FREE pass to this workshop, as well as the Angel 501, Practicum, and other workshops offered every month.  Active Investor membership also gets you free access to the other 140+ events we do every year including the Angel Capital Summit, Colorado Capital Conference Angel Forums and investor-only events.
